Inspired by woodblock print Under the Wave off the Coast of Kanagawa (The Great Wave) by Japanese ukiyo-e artist Hokusai these earrings honor long Japanese traditions of stylizing natural phenomena. From the 12th century onwards the wave was used as a crest motif with the implication that the movement of the waves with their constant ebb and flow embodied the essence of great strategy. These earrings are crafted from solid brass, electro-plated with non-tarnishing silver finish, giclee print, domed, ear wires are hypo-allergenic. Comes gift boxed. Measures 1.75 in.
